Research Triangle Park, NC — Xona Microfluidics, Inc. is pleased to announce that Anne Marion Taylor, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer, will present a scientific poster at the International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases and Related Neurological Disorders (AD/PD™ 2026) taking place March 19–21, 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Dr. Taylor’s poster, titled:

“TESTING OF AN IN VITRO MODEL FOR MICROGLIA-ACTIVATED TAUOPATHY USING HUMAN IPSC-DERIVED CELLS IN COMPARTMENTALIZED MICROFLUIDICS DEVICES”

will highlight new work in collaboration with Merakris Therapeutics using human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)–derived neural cell types within compartmentalized microfluidic platforms to investigate mechanisms of microglia-driven tau pathology. These models aim to better replicate key aspects of human neurodegenerative disease biology in vitro and provide a powerful platform for studying cell–cell interactions involved in tauopathy.

Attendees can view the poster at Board #SHIFT 02-599 during the poster sessions.

“Advancing physiologically relevant in vitro models is critical for understanding the cellular mechanisms that drive neurodegenerative disease,” said Dr. Taylor. “This work demonstrates how microfluidic compartmentalization can enable controlled studies of microglia–neuron interactions involved in tau pathology.”

Researchers attending AD/PD 2026 are encouraged to stop by the poster to learn more about the model system and discuss its potential applications for studying Alzheimer’s disease and related tauopathies.
