The project depicted in the poster focuses on in vitro modeling of tau pathology using BrainXell’s human iPSC neurons and microglia in compartmentalized microfluidics devices. Neuroinflammation and related microglial activation induce tau aggregation and mislocalization. Compartmentalized chips provide a consistent and reliable method to create accessible co-culture models for disease modeling. In this work we use our 3D model to quantify tau mislocalization in response to a neuroinflammatory microenvironment. We additionally show the ability to quantify the clinical biomarker, neurofilament light chain (NfL) in this model.
